Description of activity

The Company’s basic scope of activity includes rendering health services and health promotion, which concentrates primarily on health resort treatment, as well as on the production and sales of mineral water and therapeutic waters. On account of long rehabilitation traditions and resources of natural therapeutic waters, the Company successfully takes its chances on the market of health resort services. The Szczawno-Jedlina health resort treats patients from the National Health Fund, the Social Insurance Institution, the District Family Support Centres (Powiatowe Centra Pomocy Rodzinie), Associations and Foundations delivering help to the infirm. The Company’s additional source of revenues are patients fully covering the costs of using the Health Resort’s services. Total number of beds in the Health Resort is approx. 900 in such facilities as hospitals, sanatoriums and rehabilitation centres (including 90 beds in children’s hospital). Annually, the Health Resort treats over 14 thousand patients, including approx. 1000 children. In addition to standard health resort services such as therapeutic treatments provided in the Rehabilitation and Balneology Centre and accommodation and food in hospitals and sanatoriums, The Company also offers a wide variety of laboratory tests and osteoporosis examinations. The Szczawno – Jedlina Health Resort’s main strategy objective is the aspiration to achieve high standards of patient’s treatment and stay. In the health resort business the largest revenues may be achieved by delivering services to the client seeking rest combined with intensive rehabilitation. Fulfilling this objective would be possible by modernisation of treatment and hotel facilities, as well as by standardisation of provided services. The Szczawno-Jedlina health resort has a strong position on the fragmented market of health resort treatment and rehabilitation. Taking into account the geographical criterion, Germany should be considered as the most prospective foreign market.
