Description of activity
ZAK SA (Azoty Tarnów Group ) is one of the largest Polish chemical companies and a renowned producer of chemicals which are supplied to many markets around the world. The offer of "ZAK S.A." is addressed to the various economic sectors: agriculture, construction, chemical processing and plastics. The company produces organic and inorganic chemicals. Organic products include: plasticizers for plastics, especially PVC and raw materials for their manufacture, OXO alcohols (2-ethylhexanol, isobutanol, n-butanol) and phthalic anhydride. The group of plasticizers contains: Oxoplast ® O (di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate), Oxoplast ® IB (diisobutyl phthalate), Oxoplast ® PH (di-2-propylheptyl phthalate) used in manufacturing of floor coverings, wallpapers, garden hoses, films, footwear, packaging for pharmaceuticals and many disposable products for the medical industry. The offer also includes maleic anhydride and butyraldehydes. ZAK SA produces and sells high-quality nitrogen fertilizers, including the group of Salmag® fertilizers and Kędzierzyńska Saletra Amonowa®. In addition, the offer includes nitro-chalk and urea. The company uses natural gas, air and water to produce on-site basic raw materials for fertilizers: ammonia and nitric acid. In 2010, Europe's most modern installation for the production of nitric acid was commissioned and it will have very positive ecological effect due to reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides, decreasing energy consumption and increasing production capacity of fertilizer plants. To enable the continuity of supplies to customers, " ZAK S.A." has created the largest group of own warehouses in Poland. The company also offers AdBlue® - an environmentally friendly product for the automotive industry, used for reducing environmentally harmful nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gases of trucks. ZAK SA makes every effort to achieve the highest quality of its products and services, maintaining the image of a friendly employer. Thanks to the many innovative activities the company actively protects natural resources and is safe for the society. "Azoty Tarnów Group" is the second largest producer of DEHP plasticizer, the third producer of nitro-chalk and the fifth producer of polyamides and OXO alcohols in Europe, it is also the largest producer of caprolactam, polyamides, plasticizers and OXO alcohols in Poland.

Planned privatisation
Ministry of Treasury and Zakłady Azotowe w Tarnowie Mościcach S.A. signed a sales agreement regarding the the 40.86% of the ZAK S.A. shares. The sales agreement regarding 23 293 company’s shares was signed on 13 October 2011 upon receiving a consent of the Council of Ministers.
