Description of activity

The Ciech Group S.A. is an industry leader in Poland, involved in the production, sale and distribution of chemicals. It also operates its own storage facilities. The Group provides comprehensive services to both domestic and foreign markets, with commercial activity undertaken by domestic and foreign companies as well as foreign subsidiaries. Export sales are mostly carried out in EUR. Ciech focuses its activity on Central European markets, concentrating on domestic and regional market segments that are less sensitive to market cycles and guarantee good growth prospects. The Group’s strategy for the period up to 2011 envisages a substantial increase in revenues and profits. This is to be achieved through the development of four Divisions: Dywizja Organika (Organic Division) - good knowledge of the local market, strong market position in Poland; Dywizja Sodowa (Soda Division) - good cost position, No. 2 producer on the European soda market; Dywizja Agro (Agro Division) - efficient domestic distribution system, good knowledge of local customer needs, a broad range of chemical products for the agricultural industry; Dywizja Krzemiany i Szkło (Silicates & Glass Division) - leader in niche segments, good cost position. At the same time the Group plans to invest in increased production capacity and acquisitions with a resulting rise in revenues and profits. Since 2005 the company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
