Centrum Badawczo-Konstrukcyjne Obrabiarek Sp. z o.o. is the only institution in Poland which offers design, development, research and manufacture of numerical control machine tools. The Company specialises in industrial research and development with regard to modern general purpose numerical control machine tools for CIM systems, technical expertises, activities related to scientific and technical information, patent analyses, control systems software, computer programmes including CAD/CAM and trainings. The Power Hydraulics and Machine Tool Research Laboratory (Laboratorium Badań Hydrauliki Siłowej i Obrabiarek) is equipped with modern scientific and research apparatus for testing machine tools, equipment and assemblies. The Company’s main clients include small and medium enterprises (SMEs) usually from automotive, construction and armaments industries as well as large companies from automotive and woodworking industries. The Company delivers machines and special equipment to companies and repairs and modernises companies’ machines and equipment by performing tests and diagnosis. The Company sells its products mainly on the domestic market and exports machine tools to Austria. The Company manufactures its products in cooperation with other business entities which include metal foundries, mechanical processing facilities, subassembly processing facilities and facilities manufacturing metal sheet shields. Machine tools are mechanically and electrically assembled, started up and tested in the Company’s facilities. Currently, the Company is facing a more intense competition in the machine tool sector both on domestic and foreign markets mainly due to lower prices of machine tools imported from China, Taiwan and South Korea.
