Company Profile
Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji Samochodowej Częstochowa Spółka Akcyjna seated in Częstochowa
Description of activity
The main purpose of PKS Częstochowa is to provide transportation services: local transportation (within 55 km from Czestochowa), regional medium-distance transportation (from 56 to 150 km), long-distance transportation (meeting the needs of the connections with major academic cities and holiday centres and sanatoriums), and ad-hoc services (on a contractual basis with contractors or individual orders). The company also provides services in the field of technical inspection and registration of vehicles (District Vehicle Inspection Station) and the manintenance and repair services using specialized sheet metal and painting workstations and a car wash. In addition, PKS Częstochowa provides car park services and leases fixed assets. PKS Częstochowa concentrates its activities primarily on the area located around five cities: Czestochowa, Kłobuck, Krzepice, Pajęczna and Blachownia. The company serves 280 suburban routes, 90 regional routes and 7 long-distance runs and administers 868 bus stops. The company operates in the local retail market. It offers its services primarily to individual customers. The main recipients of the transportation services include the residents of the surrounding towns and villages regularly commuting to work, schools and universities. Services provided by the District Vehicle Inspection Station and the service station are aimed at individual customers, as well as companies and institutions with vehicle fleets. The Company's main strategic objective is a constant, dynamic development. PKS Częstochowa intends to become a strong, unquestioned leader on the local market. In the era of the rapid development of motorisation, the company wants to create a competitive alternative to private transport. One of the major improvements planned by the PKS Czestochowa is the introduction of the sale of monthly tickets by bus drivers. As a result, the primary benefits to passengers include time saving. On the other hand, this solution will enable the Company to cut down employment in the group of ticket clerks. In addition, recognizing the increasing demand for tire replacement services, PKS Częstochowa are considering the possibility of purchasing a tire fitting unit to service cars and trucks. PKS Częstochowa is one of over 170 PKS companies in Poland. In Śląskie and Łódź voivodeships, which are the main areas of PKS Częstochowa S.A.’s activities, more than a dozen of such companies operate. PKS Częstochowa’s biggest competitors are “private hire” bus companies, which compete on specific lines.
