Description of activity
For over 35 years Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej S.A. in Jastrzebie Zdroj has been involved in heat generation, transmission, distribution and sale. Its sales volume stands at 3 million GJ. The company covers the municipalities of Silesian voivodeship.
PEC produces heat in 18 own sources with a total production capacity of 256.2 MW and purchases it from 12 external sources with the power of 273.4 MW. The company distributes heat using heat distribution network with a total length of 290 km. Heat is delivered to customers through 1,565 heat transfer substations. For its production the company uses approx. 72.3 thousand Mg of solid fuel, approx. 685 thousand cubic metres of natural gas and approx. 34 tonnes of fuel oil.
As part of its ancillary activities, the company is also involved in the construction of heat distribution, water, ventilation and gas networks, as well as carries out specialized construction works, leases real estates and provides road transport services.

Planned privatisation
Under the agreement signed on 29 September 2011 the Minister of Treasury transferred the ownership of 85% of shares of Spółka Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej S.A. seated in Jastrzębie – Zdrój to Spółka Energetyczna „Jastrzębie” S.A. seated in Jastrzębie – Zdrój. The value of transaction amounted to PLN 144.500.000,00.
