BEZALIN S.A. is one of the leading manufacturers of cordage and woven goods in Poland. The company offers almost three thousand types of products in the following categories: (i) cordage (twisted and plaited) – monthly production capacity approx. 120 tons, (ii) agricultural twine, packing string, polypropylene band – monthly production capacity approx. 360 tons, (iii) fire and industrial hoses – monthly production capacity approx. 250 km. The company has recently acquired a new technology enabling it expand its product range with a new item – Polyethylene net for bale wrapping which has become increasingly popular with farmers, gradually substituting the traditional agricultural twine.
The company’s products are used in a number of industries, including fire protection, agriculture, construction, marine and shipbuilding, electrochemistry, paper industry, textiles and occupational health and safety. The client portfolio includes Polish and international companies, the latter mainly from the EU countries. Exports account for approx. 40% of sales revenues, with Germany as the main export destination.
The main competition includes: (i) Defalin and Terplast (manufacturers of agricultural twine), (ii) cordage manufacturers: Lanex based in the Czech Republic and Magistr based in Latvia (the market is difficult to evaluate due to largely fragmented clients and suppliers), (iii) fire hose producer Bogdan Gil with 25% share in domestic market and fire hose dealer Korus with 15% share in domestic market (imports from China). As a supplier for agricultural and fire fighting industries, the company has positive development perspectives despite strong competition.
