Description of activity
The core business of Białostockie Zakłady Graficzne S.A. is the provision of printing and binding services. The company offers a full range of printing services for books and magazines, job works and calendars. It is engaged in finishing processes such as sheet lamination or UV coating, cover gilding and stamping, and print numbering. The Company’s domain includes multicolour printing and complex binding as well as one-colour printing and simple, stitched, glued or notebook binding.
BZGraf S.A. has implemented an ISO 9001 quality management system, which guarantees its customers the constant quality of work in accordance with order requirements, arrangements and expectations (the certificate covers offset printing and binding services). The Company makes use of the newest technologies provided by leading suppliers of printing machines and equipment. Its machine park allows the execution of complex production processes. The Company uses high quality materials ordered from reliable suppliers it has been cooperating with for several years. It is not, however, dependant on particular suppliers.
The customers of Białostockie Zakłady Graficzne S.A. are mainly publishing houses and advertising agencies. Long-term experience in the market, many year’s cooperation with contractors as well as an experienced and competent team of employees have all contributed to a very good reputation among customers, manufacturers and suppliers, and a well established position within the industry. In the annual ‘Ranking of book printing houses’ (organised by Polish monthly ‘Wydawca’, the Polish Association of Book Publishers and the Printing Section of the Association of Polish Engineers and Technicians) the Company took the 20th place among 42 companies participating in the ranking. And the analysis of 70 leading companies in the Printing industry (2009 edition) showed that BZGraf S.A. came in 46th in the ranking based on sales volume, and 21st in the ranking based on solvency index. In the ranking based on Return on Assets (ROA) the Company took the 46th place, and based on sales profitability it took the 43rd place.
BZGraf S.A. plans to maximise the revenues from printing services by adjusting its offer to the changing requirements and needs of the market. It intends to increase its activity in the scope of obtaining orders from foreign customers and from non-printing industries, such as printing of labels, folders, leaflets, product catalogues, instructions for use, printing used in packaging production, etc. It aims to achieve its operating profit margin at the level which will allow the development and promotion of its printing services as well as the improvement of Company’s competitiveness. The way of accomplishing the set objectives – besides the diversification of printing services and business directions – involves the acquisition of new technologies that will ensure an increase in revenues and improvement of economic indices. Furthermore, BZGraf S.A. puts great emphasis on continuous cost reduction as well as on management by objectives in such a manner as to delegate responsibility at each stage of production and to each workplace.

Planned privatisation
The State Treasury holds 100% of the Company’s share capital and intends to sell 85% of its stake. The remaining 15% will be transferred free of charge to the eligible employees of the Company in accordance with the Commercialisation and Privatisation Act. On 19 April 2011 Ministry of Treasury and OZGraf Olsztyńskie Zakłady Graficzne S.A. signed a contract regarding the sale of shares constituting 85% of the initial capital.
