Wojskowa Drukarnia w Łodzi Sp. z o.o. has been operating on the Polish market for over 60 years. The company provides printing and publishing services, including printing and binding of books for leading publishing companies in Poland. The company specialises in binding paperback and hardcover books. It can also print items of jobwork, calendars, leaflets and advertising materials, as well as render bookbinding services for other printing houses. In 2009, the company produced a total of 1,183,472 books and 5,210,320 of magazines. The company provides comprehensive services for publishing projects, from editing and type setting to printing. In 2010, the company published a two-volume set of tax and accounting regulations. Wojskowa Drukarnia w Łodzi Sp. z o.o. modifies its product range depending on the needs of the publishing market. Products offered by the company can be divided into two main groups. The first are products of a slight degree of processing: forms, calendars and advertising materials, the second: books and notebooks. The company’s customers are publishers from all over Poland, among others: Bellona S.A., wydawnictwo AMBER sp. z o.o., Wydawnictwo Szkolne PWN sp. z o.o., Agencja Wydawnicza Technopol sp. z o.o. Wojskowa Drukarnia w Łodzi sp. z o.o. is a company with a long tradition. Its highly-qualified personnel is always ready to help the company’s customers with its knowledge, experience and comprehensive assistance in finding the best printing and publishing solutions. One of the company’s other strengths is its known brand and the trust of its customers. The company’ strategy is to increase the volume of orders. Therefore the company plans to modernise its machine park. One of the elements of the company’s marketing activities in 2010 was launching of an online bookstore, which made the company even more attractive to customers.

Planned privatisation

The Treasury owns 100% of the share capital of the company and plans to sell 85% of its shareholding. The remaining 15% will be transferred free-of-charge to eligible employees of company as required by the Commercialisation and Privation Act. On March 26, 2012, the Ministry of Treasury Published an invitation to participate in a public tender for the purchase of the company’s shares.
