Huta Pokój S.A. is a company with long tradition on the Polish market. It is engaged mainly in the manufacture of processed steel products and specialises in the manufacture of cold formed sections, steel structures, plates, welded sections and hot-rolled sections. Huta Pokój S.A. has a well established position on the market. In terms of production volumes of cold-rolled sections and steel structures, the company ranks second among Polish manufacturers. In scope of plates, the company is the third biggest manufacturer. As regards hot-rolled sections, the company specialises mainly in the manufacture of products for niche markets with special requirements regarding product quality and delivery times. The company’s main customers are large distribution companies and wholesalers. The company also sells its products (especially specialised custom-made products) to final customers. It also serves small final customers located mainly within the radius of about 50 km from its headquarters. Huta Pokój S.A. sells mainly to the domestic market (79%). Exports (mainly to EU) account for 21% of sales. The company uses various semi-products and metal products (slabs, blooms, hot-rolled/cold-rolled sheets in coils) as production resources. Suppliers of semi-products are leading manufacturers from EU and CIS, which ensures high quality. The company owns modern technical equipment and is fully self-sufficient as regards the design and fabrication of tools and technological accessories, as well as maintenance of its machines and devices. Despite temporary drop caused by the global crisis, the market of steel goods and structures, where the company operates, has large growth potential in the long perspective, as evidenced by forecasts of all major consulting companies (Goldman Sachs, Eurostrategy, CRU). The goal of the company’s strategy of development is to ensure constant improvement in the extent of product processing and thus to achieve best possible added value. The company plans mainly to develop the steel structure production capabilities enabling it to manufacture highly specialised structures (based on company-manufactured welded convergent sections, arched sections, castellated beams and box profiles) as well as the cold-formed sections production segment (special sections, higher precision sections, precision pipes). As regards thick plates, the company plans to expand the range of products with thicker plates and sheet precast elements. In the nearest future, the company is not planning to significantly develop its production capacities.
