Składnica Księgarska Sp. z o.o. has been operating in the book market for more than 50 years. Rich tradition and high standards achieved over many years have consolidated the company’s position on the market and have earned it the reputation of a trustworthy and reliable partner. The company’s business activity is based on wholesale and retail sale of books (within own sales network) and lease of office and storage space. The main range of products offered by the company is books printed on commission and distributed exclusively by the company. The adopted business model allows the company to shape its own, independent pricing and discount policy. The company specializes in trade of books classified as children’s, educational, youth and world literature. The company’s offer is carefully selected and is characterised by very high quality, both in terms of editing and subject matter. The books are affordably priced.
The company’s main customers are domestic wholesalers, book sellers and state-financed units. The main group of suppliers are publishers providing books to the company for exclusive distribution. The company cooperates with many other publishers and wholesalers operating on the Polish book market.
The main assets of the company are real estates located in Warsaw and Katowice. Revenues from lease of company space are about 30% of total revenues. The main lessees (with long-term lease contracts) are state-financed units, which ensures regular payment. The goal of the company’s development strategy is to expand in the following years cooperation with publishers under consignment agreements and to offer new titles. The company intends to increase sales, among others by launching new promotional campaigns aimed at making the company’s offer more attractive to wholesalers. The company also plans to develop cooperation with existing customers and to actively seek new ones. The company sees its opportunity for development in concluding affiliation agreements which will allow the company to access new markets.
