Telefony Opalenickie S.A. (TOSA) is an independent local telephone operator providing telecom services in the following communes of Wielkopolskie Province: Opalenica, Kuślin, Granowo and parts of Grodzisk Wielkopolski. The company’s telecommunication services consist of providing access to public landline telephony and supplying telephone and Internet solutions. The area of operation covers the town of Opalenica and 52 neighbouring villages. Approximately 75% of subscribers are natural persons.
TOSA renders its services using mainly own telecom infrastructure consisting of telephone exchanges, subscriber line regulators, copper and fibre-optic cable assemblies between different locations, local distribution networks, Internet hubs, radio access networks and corresponding infrastructure. Although there has been a decrease in the number of landline phone subscribers, this trend mostly concerns individual customers, while companies and institutions still treat fixed-line connection as an important communication channel. On the other hand, the number of households with broadband Internet connection has been observed to grow over the years. Due to these market trends, the main goals of TOSA’s development strategy are to: prevent decrease in landline telecom service revenues, work to increase the number of Internet subscribers, expand product range with new services and modernise the existing telecom infrastructure.
