Description of activity
Przedsiębiorstwo Badań Geofizycznych Sp. z o.o. (PBG Sp. z o.o.) provides services in scope of geophysical surveys, geological and engineering surveys, hydrogeological surveys and protection and monitoring of the environment. PBG Sp. z o.o. was established in 1950 and is the oldest geophysical institution in Poland. The company has contributed to the geologic surveying of Poland for nearly 60 years, leading to the discovery of deposits of metal ores, coal, rock materials, chemical materials and underground water. As a result of cooperation between PBG Sp z o.o. and foreign companies, oil, gas and mineral deposits were located and discovered, among others in India, Pakistan, Libya, Chad and Nigeria. PBG Sp. z o.o. conducts surveying with use of non-invasive geophysical methods such as: gravimetry, magnetics, magnetotellurics, geoelectric probing, electrofusion tomography, georadar, conductive and radio wave profiling. The company owns modern surveying equipment and software and on some types of activities it holds a monopoly or a dominant position, e.g. specialist magnetotelluric surveys, induced polarization, gravimetry and magnetics, and comprehensive interpretation for structural and deposit purposes. The biggest share of orders, in terms of value, comes from the state sector (PGNiG, Ministry of Environment, PIG) and from the individual orders sector (independent Polish and foreign companies, Polish and foreign research institutes, local self-governments and a small number of private individuals). The main goals of the company’s development strategy are to maintain the high quality of services and a strong position on the Polish market and simultaneously to seek opportunities to carry out export works, especially in scope of specialist oil and gas discovery works and interpretation works.
