Description of activity
The core activities of Centralny Ośrodek Chłodnictwa COCH w Krakowie include: (i) scientific research and research and development in the areas of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps, as well as putting research findings into practice (the company also provides training in the field of refrigeration); (ii) improvement of techniques and methods of conducing research and development, including works involving the use of electronic techniques and software; (iii) design of a range of cooling installations and devices for various application, including installations and devices for refrigeration facilities, heat pump and air conditioning installations, etc. (iv) carrying-out construction and technological works and research operations; (v) preparing analyses and forecasts concerning the present status and future prospects for science and technology in the areas of refrigeration, heat pumps, air conditioning, heat engineering and atmosphere protection. The company holds several certificates and accreditations authorising it to carry out scientific research. The main clients of COCH include production companies from refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump branches (producers of refrigerating compressors and units, refrigeration cabinets, heat exchangers, freezing chambers and tunnels, heat pumps and refrigeration accessories), businesses using refrigeration installations, companies providing maintenance service for refrigeration and air conditioning devices, transportation companies using refrigerated transport vehicles and entities utilising highly-specialised refrigeration devices, particularly ultra-cold freezers. As part of its strategy, the company intends to continue its R&D activities, particularly activities in the scope of designing ground-breaking renewable-energy refrigeration and air-conditioning devices some of which will be put into production. COCH also plans to broaden the scope of its training services and expand its laboratory testing activities with electromagnetic compatibility tests and pressure analysis, as well as to obtain the rights of a body authorised to issue Environmental Management System certificates.
