Description of activity

The company specialises in the manufacture and sale of broadly defined rubber products, i.e. high-pressure hydraulic hoses, industrial hoses, rubber sheets, mattings, conveyor belts, sealings and extruded technical products. This year the company celebrates its 90th anniversary. A recognised brand and trade mark, highly specialised technical personnel and a wide range of products allow for effective competition and contribute to the leading market position of the company.  STOMIL sells its products both on the domestic market (68% of production) and on the foreign market (32% of production). The company’s target customers in Poland are mainly distributors (60%), production companies (30%) and individual customers (10%). On foreign markets as much as 95% of products are sold through distributors, while the remaining 5% are sold to production enterprises. The company exports mainly to EU countries, such as the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as to Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. Additionally, the company sells its goods in the United States and Australia. Its production capacity is about 5 thousand tonnes of various finished goods each year. This production potential allows to reach a domestic market share between 2% and 50%, depending on the type of assortment (among most popular products are hydraulic hoses, industrial hoses and rubber plates).  The market on which the company operates may be considered as promising. The company's strategic suppliers come from the coal mining and copper mining industry, as well as from the agricultural industry. These sectors will require large investments in the next few years and therefore the company expects an increase in demand for its products in these sectors.  The company's development strategy envisages attracting new domestic and foreign customers (the company plans to expand into markets in Romania, Bulgaria, Sweden and Norway).  The company’s strategy of selective development applies mainly to hydraulic hoses and industrial hoses. Its main goal is to maintain the leading position in sales of such hoses in Poland and to increase sales of hydraulic hoses abroad.
