Company Profile
Poznańskie Zakłady Sprzętu Ortopedycznego Spółka z o.o. seated in Poznań - privatised company
Description of activity
Poznańskie Zakłady Sprzętu Ortopedycznego was established as a result of the commercialization of the former state-owned enterprise that had been operating under the same name since 1919. The company conducts production, service and commercial activities. A wide offer of the company is addressed mainly to individual customers, disabled people, and firms operating on the orthopaedic market. Owing to its many years of experience and qualified personnel the company has a strong position on the local market. The company's main production activity is the manufacture of orthopaedic devices for the needs of firms all over the country, semi-finished products for building individual orthopaedic supplies, orthopaedic and rehabilitation equipment and a wide range of life-saving products. Through its Orthopaedic Supply Centre and outlets located across the Wielkopolska province, the company provides individual orthopaedic supplies according to measurements taken for artificial upper and lower limbs, orthopaedic shoes and orthopaedic jackets. The company's offer also includes orthopaedic arch supports, wheelchairs, rehabilitation beds, crutches, walking sticks, walking frames, ostomy and urostomy supplies, orthopaedic stabilizers and hundreds of other products that are hardly available on the medical market. At the same time, the company offers the possibility to hire rehabilitation equipment in a wide range. The company plans to expand its sales network outside its facilities and to create a network of rehabilitation services and rehabilitation equipment rental facilities. On the Polish market of orthopaedic products there are 5 leading companies of comparable size, 12 firms operating at the rehabilitation centres and more than 100 private firms, mostly small businesses. Due to the limited mobility of the customers (disabled people), they usually use those firms that have outlets in the vicinity of their homes. Taking into account the present needs of the disabled people that are provided for by the company on a regular basis, as well as the new needs of people who become disabled because of diseases and accidents, the demand for PZSO's products is growing. The customer financial capacity is a very important factor determining the absorptiveness of this market.
