Description of activity

The Company operates on the local and domestic market of the agricultural sector. All the land and buildings are leased from the Agricultural Property Agency. The Company conducts production activity in the scope of plant growing, animal reproduction and breeding, fruit growing as well as trade and service activity.
The Company is made up of three farms (Bierzglin, Sokołowo, Kawęczyn), Fruit Growing Farm in Gulczewo and Technical Service Plant in Sokołowo with repair and maintenance facilities for agricultural equipment. The Company operates in the area of Wielkopolskie voivodeship and conducts its trade activity on the local and domestic market.
The basic agricultural production comprises consumptive wheat (with the yearly average output of 3800 tonnes), rapeseed (2000 tonnes), sugar beet (11000 tonnes) and grain maze (1800 tonnes). Fruit growing is an important part of the Company’s production. The yearly fruit production amounts to 2100 tonnes and is conducted on the fruit growing area of 123 ha, including apple trees: 69 ha, aronia: 25 ha, black currant: 15 ha and a few hectares of plum, cherry and pear tree plantations, respectively. In its sale offer the Company has some of the most popular apple varieties, the so-called dessert varieties, such as - Champion, Ligol, Gala and the whole range of Jonagolds, for which it has regular customers and receives decent earnings from their sales. As the Company runs its own cold storage plant it may conduct the wholesale and retail sale of fruits almost all over the year, which has a positive impact on its financial results. The cold storage plant makes it possible to sell apples at the time when the supply of traditionally stored apples is smaller and their prices reach the highest level.
In the animal production, cattle-breeding (2200 heads) and milk production prevail. The Company has 860 dairy cows ensuring the yearly production of 7.8 million litres of milk of the highest quality parameters. The whole amount of milk is delivered to Danone.
The Company has a well established position on the local and domestic market, cooperating for many years with selected partners. Such partners include Zakłady Tłuszczowe w Szamotułach (rapeseed), Danone Warsaw (the whole amount of milk) and Pfeifer Langen – Sugar Plant in Środa Wielkopolska (all sugar beet crops).
