Description of activity
The major type of business activity is passenger transport. The Company offers the following transport options: regular service lines, contract services, tourist services and occasional services. Passenger service operates 110 routes per day, by 71 busses on average, mainly within two counties (Lubliniec and Olesno). Passenger traffic is served by the Company by bus stations in Lubliniec and Olesno. The second business area of the company, in terms of sales volume, is trading activity in the area of retail sales of petrol, automotive parts and accessories, food products on the petrol station in Lubliniec and sales of tyres. Also, the Company provides repair and diagnostic services in their repair and diagnostic shops. These services include: repairs of motor trucks and passenger cars, MOT tests, tachograph repair and service, tire service, air conditioning system repair and service as well as car wash services. Also, the Company provides driving licence training courses (categories B, C and D) and driver improvement courses. Passenger transport generates 66% of total revenues received by the Company. The trading business accounts for 25% of Company’s revenues, repair and diagnostic services – 4%, driving and driver improvement courses – 1%, and other business activities – 4%. Customers of the services provided by the Company are private clients (58% share in sales) and corporate clients (42% share in sales). Customers of transportation services are mainly private clients accounting for 95.4% of the total number of passengers carried. Private clients include mainly: school children commuting to schools in Lubliniec, Olesno, Częstochowa, Tarnowskie Góry. The major corporate clients are educational centres, municipalities and commune offices. Service and trading activities are carried out mainly on the local market (County of Lubliniec and Olesno), with minor portion being provided outside. Exports include outbound tourist traffic to Czechs and Slovakia, accounting for a small portion (i.e. 0.11%) of the revenues generated by the Company. Of major significance to the Company is expected to be the extension of the traffic in the area of commuting children to schools and outbound tourism. Therefore the Company participates in tenders. Also, a number of various marketing operations are carried out intended to encourage new customers to utilise services provided by PKS Lubliniec Sp. z o.o. The company intends to expand the trading business by establishing a new petrol station in Olesno and expand the range of products offered by the station in Lubliniec. The Company intends to expand the range of repair services by opening a Webasto heating system repair station. Also, the Company has been carrying out restructuring operations in terms of company assets, employment and costs. In order to improve the quality of services provided and to put more focus on customers the company has implemented the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System in the area of: passenger transport, technical inspection of vehicles and sales of fuels, oils and car accessories.
