Description of activity

Agencja Rynku Energii S.A. was established in April 1997 pursuant to the provisions of the “Guidelines for Poland’s Energy Policy until the year 2010” – a governmental document adopted by the Council of Ministers on 17 October 1995. The project provided for establishing the Energy Market Agency in order to conduct research and development work and to provide effective information support in the field of energy management.
Agencja Rynku Energii S.A. conducts statistical surveys in the energy sector and provides information and consulting services in the fields associated with the energy sector and energy management. The primary task of the Agency is to provide the governmental departments, energy enterprises and local government bodies with information on the functioning of the fuel and energy sector. It concerns, in particular, information on the fuel and energy demand, technical and economic situation of the sector and its entities, as well as energy sector development opportunities including modern environment-friendly power generation technologies.
A system for collecting statistical information on most events associated with the production and distribution of energy that was implemented by Agencja Rynku Energii S.A. makes it possible to establish the largest and most reliable national Data Bank of the Fuel and Energy Economy.
Agencja Rynku Energii S.A. owns the CIRE portal (www.cire.pl) – the first and leading portal of the Polish energy market.
In 2008, the monthly page view statistic for all portal pages exceeded 1 200 000 exposures. The portal has more than 90 000 users. Every day, more than 8 200 regular users take advantage of CIRE newsletter. Portal users mainly include employees of energy companies and other companies directly or indirectly associated with the energy market in Poland.
