4th Investment Forum in Tarnów, 6-7 September 2011
The Ministry of Treasury is the co-organiser of the 4th Investment Forum in Tarnów to be held as part of meetings accompanying the Polish Presidency in the EU Council.
"The Forum in Tarnów, which is a prelude to the 21st Economic Forum in Krynica-Zdrój, every year gathers representatives of the Polish and foreign investor community from Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, as well as representatives of the administration who are responsible for the processes of privatisation in the countries of the region. This year we will meet in a broader group than before, because due to the Polish Presidency, the meetings will be attended by the representatives of Member States and candidate countries to the European Union. Therefore, we will have a special opportunity to emphasise the integrity of Europe, the process of transformation of the market and the investment potential of our entire region" – says Minister of Treasury, Aleksander Grad.
Participation in the conference has already been confirmed, among others, by Anthony Alt, a long-time, experienced practitioner in the field of privatisation, presidents of European stock exchanges, including Ludwik Sobolewski, President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Heinrich Schaller, President of Wiener Börse AG, Austria, and other experienced practitioners and experts on issues relating to privatisation, capital markets, investment banking, the real estate and energy sector.
In addition to representatives of the Polish government, Polish and foreign investors, issuers, experts and academics, and representatives of scientific circles, the Forum will also be attended by delegates from EU Member States and neighbouring countries, including high-rank representatives of state administration. Each previous edition of the Forum gathered nearly 200 people, while nearly 300 participants have already confirmed their participation in this year's Forum.
The Forum will opened by a plenary session, attended by Minister of the Treasury Aleksander Grad, dedicated to change of ownership in Poland and Europe, with particular emphasis on countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Participants will talk, among others, about the shape of privatisation processes in view of the political and legal situation in the region, and share experiences and assumptions of the policy of ownership for the coming years.
The 4th Investment Forum will be held on 6-7 September 2011 in the Ludwik Solski Theatre in Tarnów. Co-organisers of the event are the Ministry of Treasury, the City of Tarnów and the Institute for Eastern Studies. The Minister of the Treasury holds the honorary patronage over the event for the fourth time.
Planned program of the Forum:
- Plenary session: Privatisation in Central and Eastern Europe – a comparative study;
