The Ministry of Treasury on roadshow in London

On 9 June, Polish Minister of Treasury Aleksander Grad was scheduled to meet with representatives of investment funds in London. The main purpose of the visit was to promote privatisation activities undertaken by the Polish Ministry of Treasury and the upcoming transactions in the capital markets.

As part of the promotional campaign for the Polish Privatisation Programme 2008-2011, the Minister of Treasury participated in a series of meetings with investors, including representatives of London based investment funds who will have a chance to become familiar with investment opportunities related to the upcoming transactions in the capital markets.

The Minister of Treasury promoted the idea of establishing the Warsaw Financial Centre, according to which Poland’s capital city is to become the financial and economic hub of Central and Eastern Europe due to the fastest-growing stock exchange in the region and abundant opportunities offered by capital markets which have already attracted a large number of foreign investors.
