Department of Ownership Supervision performs, in accordance with the Ministry’s division into industry sections, companies and state-owned enterprises the following tasks within the scope of supervision:
- supervision of state-owned enterprises for which the Minister of Treasury is the founding body, ang performance of other activities of the founding body;
- commercialisation of state enterprises and research and development units (R&D), including commercialisation of state enterprises with the aim of their municipalisation on the motion of executive bodies of territorial self-government units;
- contribution of state enterprises to sole-shareholder companies of the Treasury;

exercising of Treasury rights and performance of its duties arising from participation in commercial code companies, in particular related to:
a) exercising voting rights along with other corporate and property rights of a partner/shareholder;
b) performance of acts pertaining to exercising of rights and duties of a partner/shareholder, in particular related to appointment of members of companies’ corporate bodies, endorsement of financial statements, increase or decrease of the initial capital, redemption of shares, non-cash contribution of shares to another entity, division, merger, or transformation of companies;
c) monitoring the economic and financial standing of companies; - co-operation with Treasury representatives in supervisory boards;
- qualification of state-owned enterprises and companies for commercialisation and privatisation;
- conducting periodical inventory of shares held by the State Treasury in capital companies;
- evaluation of the rationale behind entrepreneurs applications for granting of state aid.
The tasks referred to above do not include the responsibilities entrusted to other organisational units.
Department of Ownership Supervision maintains databases on supervised enterprises and companies, and prepares information concerning the economic and financial standing of supervised entities according to the provisions set forth in a separate ordinance of the Minister.
Department of Ownership Supervision performs activates related to the execution of the Minister’s tasks with respect to foundations for which the Minister of the Treasury is the founder, co-founder or exercises the functions of the minister competent in this respect.
Department of Ownership Supervision performs activities related to the execution of the Minister’s tasks with respect to other funds in which the Treasury is the founder or a shareholder.
Department of Ownership Supervision performs tasks within the scope of coordinating the activities of relevant administrative entities of particular departments competent for the matters of corporate governance and privatisation, and cooperates with the Office of the General Director in the elaboration of arrangements for modifications, as well as testing and acceptance of modifications made to the ZSI system as regards monitoring and registration of the supervision and privatisation processes.
The Department of Ownership Supervision is additionally responsible for:

initiation, performance and coordination of activities related to the implementation of tasks for the national security and defence, particularly for:
a) organizing the implementation of tasks within the general defence obligation at the Ministry and by subordinated or supervised organisational units and entrepreneurs;
b) planning and supervising activities related to the mandatory protection of facilities and organisation and preparation of special protection for facilities important for national defence and security;
c) planning and coordinating implementation of crisis management projects at the Ministry;
d) drafting plans and undertaking activities associated with preparing the Ministry and the supervised entrepreneurs for functioning in conditions of external threat to the national security and during a state of war; - exercising the Minister’s tasks arising out of the Act on certain compensation agreements concluded in relation to supply contracts for the purposes of national defence and security;
- exercising tasks arising out of the Minister’s powers in relation to the Military Housing Agency and the Military Property Agency.
