Capital markets breakfast in Davos
President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski and Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Treasury, Paweł Tamborski, met with representatives of the global investor community, potential issuers and financial institutions at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
On January 27th, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski took part in a working breakfast with representatives of global institutional investors and private equity funds, issuers as well as the world's largest financial institutions. The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Treasury, in collaboration with investment banks operating in Poland.
It was the second edition of the event. Last year's breakfast with representatives of the international investor community and global financial institutions had resulted in their increased activity on the Polish capital markets. The aim of this year's meeting was to encourage institutions and companies to enhance and strengthen their involvement in Poland. The needs of investors, issuers and financial institutions that have an impact on their presence and expansion plans on the Polish markets and in the region of Central and Eastern Europe were also discussed.
Feedback from breakfast participants has confirmed the thesis that Poland is a modern state, which responds to the needs of the business and financial institutions sector. The event is part of a strategy to support the Polish capital markets and the idea of Warsaw as a Regional Financial Center of Central and Eastern Europe.
The moderator of the meeting was Undersecretary of State, Paweł Tamborski. The event was also attended by the President of the National Bank of Poland, Marek Belka, and President & CEO of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Ludwik Sobolewski.
