NBP: foreign investment inflows in Poland reached EUR 6.3 billion in the first half of 2010

According to the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ), the preliminary data released by the National Bank of Poland show that the total foreign direct investment inflows (FDI) into Poland in June 2010 amounted to EUR 715 million. This means that the total volume of foreign direct investment in Poland in the first half of 2010 was EUR 6.3 billion.

The FDI volume accounts for 178% of the inflow in the first half of 2009.

As much as 75% of greenfield investment (one of the two forms of foreign direct investment involving construction of company facilities from scratch) in H1 2010 came from Europe, the remaining part from America.

The most important sectors of greenfield investment in the first half of 2010 were: industry (29%), sales and marketing (19%), retail sales (13%), construction (10%) and services for business (9%).
