Description of activity

The scope of business activity of Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Przemysłu Rafineryjnego S.A. (Research and Development Centre for Petroleum Industry SA) includes widely understood refinery and chemical production (including the production of aviation fuels, of which the company is the leading producer in Central and Eastern Europe, and the production of additives for fuels and biofuels), production of plastic products (gardening, construction, geomembrane, packaging and shrink foil), production of specialty chemicals, as well as research and development studies in the petrochemical and refinery industry, corrosion protection, environmental protection, additives for fuels and biofuels, analysis of petroleum products, biofuels and biocomponents.  The Company's most important trading partner is Polish Oil Concern "Orlen" (PKN ORLEN), which is both a supplier of raw materials and a recipient of services and products. The Company also cooperates with other wholesalers and retailers. Approximately 60% of production goes to the domestic market, while the remaining 40% goes to foreign markets. Export concerns aviation fuels, which is sold to such countries as Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the countries of the European Union, as well as to Saudi Arabia and UAE.  The development strategy of the Centre provides for modernization of installations for the production of aviation fuels, construction of installations for the production of non-aromatic solvents, as well as construction of new reservoirs for the storage of raw materials and products.
